We went to the design table with heavily researched field data and the assistance of experienced metallurgists and engineers, who have over 30 years of experience focused on bit design in mining and oil field applications, to offer the new TS Series. This re-engineered bit will bring to drillers worldwide the opportunity to improve their drilling programs in terms of both penetration rate and overall bit life.

TS40: Soft Formation

The TS40 utilizes the largest chisel-shaped tungsten carbide inserts with greatest extension and spacing to perform best in the softest formations. Maximum bearing offset and cutter angle ensure the highest penetration rates and the most efficent cuttings removal in a wide variety of soft unconsolidated formation and some low compressive formations.

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS: 5,000-15,000 (psi)
ROTARY SPEEDS: 70 to 120 rpm
DRILLING WEIGHTS: 2,000 to 4,500 (lbs/inch of bit diameter)
IADC: 411 - 511

TS50: Medium Formations

The TS50 utilizes large chisel-shaped inserts spaced to provide high penetration rates in softer formations. It is extremely effective in shale, clay, soft/medium limestone and other formations of relatively low-compressive strength with hardstreaks or abrasive qualities. This bit features hard metal down the legs and around the shirttail, along with added leg and body carbide inserts to maximize bit life.

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS: 10,000 - 30,000 (psi)
ROTARY SPEEDS: 70 to 120 rpm
DRILLING WEIGHTS: 2,000 to 5,000 (lbs/inch of bit diameter)
IADC: 512 - 532

TS 60: Medium-Hard Formations

The TS60 is adaptable to a wide variety of formations with higher compressive strengths, and is designed to perform well in sandstone, limestone, copper ores, hard shale and other formations with high abrasive qualities, numerous hard streaks and broken formations. This bit features hard metal down the legs and around the shirttail, along with added leg and body carbide inserts to maximize bit life.

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS: 22,000 - 40,000 (psi)
ROTARY SPEEDS: 55 to 100 rpm
DRILLING WEIGHTS: 3,000 to 6,000 (lbs/inch of bit diameter)
IADC: 541 - 622

TS70: Hard Formations

For maximum penetration rates in harder formations, the TS70 utilizes break resistant, projectile shaped inserts. They are spaced for maximum bottom hole cleaning in hard, abrasive and homogenous limestone, dolomites, basalt, granite and chert.

ROTARY SPEEDS: 50 to 100 rpm
DRILLING WEIGHTS: 3,000 to 6,500 (lbs/inch of bit diameter)
